We made driving guidance that will cover some of the best spots on the route. When you follow this plan you will have the foundation of a good day with the riders.
There will be some options where you will have to choose what spot you will want to see. You can follow the plan as is, or you can make some detours to watch the riders at other places - maybe you have a secret favorite spot?
The plan was made so you will be able to comply with all traffic rules.
Enjoy!
Covid-19 advice: We wish to see you at the route but the advise you to keep a safe distance from each other and spread out. There is enough room for everybody.
#1. The start on Kousgaards plads.
After many years of having the finish on the town square of Herning, Herning city center is being renovated, which means Grand Prix Herning had to find a new finish.
This gives the possibility to move the riders' area very close to the enrollment and make the race mood very intense. There will be placed a big screen and the mood from the city square to Kousgaardsplads.
Practical:
Be sure to be parked close to Kousgaardsplads, so you can easily leave the city when the race has started.
#2. Asbjergvej, Sinding
From the Townsquare to Asbjergvej: 15 minutes
Asbjergvej is the first gravel section and traditional is thought of as a place where the best teams need to be at the front of the peloton, so they will not be caught behind the riders who can't keep up with the speed at the gravel segments.
There are multiple good spots to stand at the segment, but one of them is at the end, where there is a small hill.
Practical:
It is possible to park nearby, on a road near the route, and wall to the pavement.
#3 Skovbyvej, Videbæk
Asbjergvej to Skovbyvej: 23 minutes
Skovbyvej is 2 kilometers long. If you go to the last farm at the section there is a god spot where you will be able to see the dust rising from the ground, on a dry spring day. From here the riders will go from the forest to the open moors a kilometer before the gravel sprint.
This is one of the best spots on the route, where you will be able to follow the rider's fight with the gravel.
Practical:
There are good parking spots at the gravel section, especially at the end. When you leave this spot, you will go after the peloton.
